The Lightning Thief Has Hard Hitting action and Costumes

Just a combine more weeks until Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief is released to theaters. The young-adult book series, by Rick Riordan, has been a big hit in my house and although it is written for the younger generation, it also appeals to adults. My guess is that with the popularity of the books and a new movie opportunity up on February 12th, costumes based on this fantasy adventure story will be very favorite for Halloween 2010.

The plot revolves colse to high school student Percy Jackson who for real gets a history chapter when the gods of Mount Olympus come to life and walk right out of the pages of his Greek Mythology text book! Turns out Percy, who finds out his father is Poseidon (making him a demi-god), is the prime conjecture in the stealing of Zeus' Lighting bolt. His mum mysteriously disappears and, with the help of friends, Percy sets out on adventure to catch the real thief, safe his mum and unravels an epic strangeness as well.

Book Thief

You can make the story come to life at your own party by dressing up in Greek god and goddess costumes. Zeus, king of the gods and ruler of Mt. Olympus, is known for his white robes, white beard and Lightning bolt which he throws about. A toga costume and costume beard will make this Greek costume for real transformable into a Lightening Thief costume. Women might like to dress up as Aphrodite, the most gorgeous of the Greek Goddesses. A long column-style gown wrapped criss-cross colse to the waist, a cascading blonde wig and golden Greek jewelry complete her Greek costume. Other touches for a Greek costume consist of leather sandals, coin jewelry, arm cuffs that look like snakes and laurel wreath headbands.

Percy Jackson From the Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson son of Poseidon, the Sea God

Percy Jackson is a character from Rick Riordan's series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. In the first book Percy is 12 years old. In the last book he is turning 16. The whole last book revolves around him turning 16 because of the 'prophecy'. The prophecy is about how a son or daughter of the 'big 3' will decide the fate of the world, for the good, the gods or for the bad, the titans.

Book Thief

Like most demigods Percy Jackson is dyslexic, and because of his dyslexia he can read old Greek precisely well. Percy Jackson can heal in water and control the water around him. Percy is short for Perseus. In Greek mythology, Perseus is the one who kills Medusa, and in Rick Riordan's series, Percy is the one who kills Medusa. Rick Riordan's series relates precisely well to old Greek Mythology.

Percy Jackson From the Lightning Thief

In all of the books Percy Jackson is known for his bravery. Percy is also smart but not as smart as his best friend Annabeth. Annabeth is always there for him to make a plan. In the first book, The Lightning Thief, is when Percy first meets Annabeth. He meets her at camp half-blood. Camp half-blood is a unique place for half-bloods. The borders of camp half-blood are protected by extra Powers. One of those extra Powers is Thalia's Pine tree. Thalia is a daughter of Zeus. She died to save both Annabeth and Luke. Zeus took pity on her because she was trying to save her friends, so instead of letting her die, he turned her into a pine tree.

Luke is a son of Hermes. When Percy first meets Luke, Percy thinks that Luke is on the 'good side'. When precisely he is not, and tries to kill Percy in the first book. Luke gets deceived by Kronos because he thinks that his father doesn't like him. Percy precisely looks up to Luke throughout most of the first book.

When Percy goes to camp half-blood he is put in the Hermes cabin and Luke is his counselor. He is put in the Hermes cabin because he has no idea who his 'godly' father is. In Percy's first game of capture the flag, he gets claimed by his father, Poseidon. When Percy is getting beat up by Clarisse, a daughter of Ares, the sign comes. The sign is a glowing green trident.
